History
These eight photographs are part of a larger collection of more than 200 photographs from Iran acquired by Mr. Joel Montague of Wellesley, Mass. Approximately twenty original “cabinet card” and “carte viste” photographs were purchased individually over several years, starting in the 1960s. Additional photographs, including many portraits of constitutional era figures, were acquired by Mr. Montague from a dealer in Tehran in the early 1970s.
