‘Abbas Mirza Mulk Ara
Son of Khadijah Khanum from Chahriq and Muhammad Shah Qajar, and brother of Nasir al-Din Shah; in 1878, he received the title of Mulk Ara
After his father's death in 1852, Nasir al-Din Shah exiled him to Baghdad. In 1878, he returned to Iran and was given the title of Mulk Ara by the Shah. He was appointed as the Governor of Khamsah but escaped to the Caucasus due to fear for his life. On September 29, 1879, with mediation by Mirza Husayn Khan Sipahsalar, he returned to Iran. In 1885 or 1886, he became the Minister of Commerce and in 1893 or 1894, he was appointed as the Governor of Gilan. He was selected to represent Iran in the coronation ceremony of Nicholas II of Russia on 26 May 1896. In November or December of 1896, he was appointed as the Minister of Commerce and Justice.
